Today I wanted to share something that I have been pondering for a couple of weeks, and thats making the best out of a hard situation.
We have all had our fair share of difficult times, times where its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, where the going is so tough that we want to sit down and cry and not get up again, and then we hear that phrase 'the tough times are when you grow', well I've seen plenty of people go through hard times and it hasn't done them any good and I've had a couple of my own where I have thought that I could have done much better than I did.
And then I realised that its not the hard times that make you grow, its deciding in your heart to be a student of them and not a victim, its resolving to honor God and not compromise on your values and who you are, its about respecting yourself and taking the time to look after yourself in amongst the chaos and know that this time will pass, another new day is coming.

ReplyDeleteI can relate to this, at times I feel like I'm standing in sand rather than rich fertile soil growing from a bout of difficult times and coming out a positive new me rearing to set the world a blaze with revelations of wisdom.(There are days when, I just sign deeply and think, praise the lord I'm through it...just.) Sometimes I think we don't see the intital growth, or its not the growth I expected from it, it comes later rather than at the time. This is the first time I've seen anyone actually say it like you just did in this passage.
